Juan García del Muro is a Catalan philosopher and one of the most awarded essayists in Catalan literature. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona and a professor in the Faculty of Philosophy at the Ramon Llull University and the Institut Obert de Catalunya (IOC). He has published articles and books and has received several awards, including the Joan Fuster Prize for essay in 2003 for an analysis of current totalitarianisms. The year 2016 won the October Awards with an essay entitled "Soldats del no-res" where he tries to approach the figure of young Europeans who join the ranks of Daesh or Islamic State. The year 2017 won the 34th Prize Josep Vallverdú of essay with the work "Good bye, veritat".
